In the first 3 books in The Selection Series, America is chosen for the Selection, makes it down to the Elite, and is one of the top 2 choices to become the princess. America is not so sure she wants to marry Prince Maxon, because her heart already belongs to a boy named Aspen. America slowly falls in love with Maxon, and since Maxon has been in love with America since the beginning, he promises her that he will choose her to marry over the other girls. But, after so many fights, and the king hating her, America is not so sure Maxon will choose her over her top competitor, Kriss. In the end, Maxon marries America, and in the next book, The Heir, America and Maxon’s daughter holds her own Selection.

My Thoughts

I loved this book, because the contest in this hit dystopian series is amazing! This series has so many different emotions and details that makes you feel like you’re in the book observing everything that is happening. My favorite thing about this book was the unpredictable plot. Especially with all the hidden people that were rebels. I have to say my favorite character was Celeste. At first I hated her, but in book 3, I loved her change in heart. I also thought it was cool when Celeste was nicer, but still had her personality. (Thank goodness it didn’t change, I loved it!) As soon as I am able to get the 4th book, I am definitely reading it!

Movie before Book experiment-Divergent (Part 2/Results)

Published July 11, 2015 by Bella

They were a lot of differences, like characters, events, and items. I love details, and the movie didn’t not give me details. (Sigh) I would like the movie to give me more of the details the book did. Ok, time for results…..

The Results

I liked………… The movie better. (Gasp) I think the book was WAY less enjoyable since I knew what was happening. Even though the book and the movie are different in ways, they all have the same big idea. I had to force myself to finish the book, because I got bored. If I read the book first, then watched the movie, the book would be more enjoyable. In conclusion, I think the book will be more enjoyable if you read the book first, and the movie would be more enjoyable if you watched the movie first.

Did you try the challenge, if so, email me the results and yours might get posted on my blog! Don’t forget to include the book you read!

Have you ever read Divergent? Have you ever watched the movie Divergent? Have you seen both? Which did you like better? Comment below ;). Well, when I read a book, and then later I watched the movie, I always liked the book better. The thing is, I always read the book first, so the book felt normal and the movie felt weird. But what if I watched the movie first, then read the book? Well we are about to find out……… I never read the book or watched the movie Divergent. I always read the book before watching the movie (because I’m a book worm). So now I am going to watch the movie then read the book and tell you my results. Want to be notified when the next post is out? Follow me!! It’s the right thing to do;) You should join the challenge too! Find a YA book that has a movie with it. Then watch the movie before reading the book and post it on your blog. Don’t have a blog but want to share your results anyway?! Type it somewhere, email me, and  I will definitely post it on my blog. All you have to do as give me a username or your first name and I will say  it’s by you!  Schism Series Website

In the first 3 chapters in the first book of the schism series the first schism happens. A girl gains magical powers to help the building that the schism occurred in so that the building does not go out of existence. The girl needs to find the heart of the schism to fix it, but it’s hard to concentrate when her boyfriend just died and then tried to attack her. In the building crazy unimaginable things come into reality and the characters find themselves in life or death situations.

My Thoughts

I can’t wait to finish reading the book when it comes out. Thanks to Laurie Blake, I was able to review the first 3 chapters and post a review about them on my blog!  I like this book because it’s a scary novel that gives the right amount of horror, the kind that makes the book interesting and scary without keeping you scared at night. It is a mix of sci-fi, horror and mystery, so it is enjoyable for anyone who prefers those genres. I’m excited to see what happens next in this new novel by Laurie Blake.I am curios to find out  how the new girl handles her new magic powers, if she can actually handle them without anything going out of control. This series reminds me of one of my favorite series, A Series of Unfortunate Events with the characters in deadly situations but they always manage to survive, I hope these characters can use their skills to survive too.

In the end, he learns that the Oceanians really didn’t mean to take over their planet, but something else exciting may have happened.

My Thoughts

When I was asked to read this book, I didn’t really know what to expect. I don’t read a lot of science fiction books, but this book blew me away! I enjoyed this book because it was not only a science fiction book but it also had romance in this book; I love romantic books. Since time goes by quickly in this book, it leaves a lot more room for action and adventure! Michael Thal used large and descriptive vocabulary, sometimes I found myself searching for the word’s definition! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction, romantic stories, and adventurous books.
