Johnny repairs shoes for a living. That may sound normal, but he is a 17 year old who works 16 hours a day to help his mother pay off  bills. His life changes when Princess Victoriana asks him to find her brother, a frog. She gives him magical equipment for his quest. In return, all of Johnny’s problems will relinquish, because when Johnny finds the prince, he will marry the princess. He finds out that finding the prince may not be as easy as he thought it would.

I liked Beastly by Alex Flinn so much more. The book got really boring at times, and became too predictable. However, I like how she decided to use less popular fairy tales. I also don’t like how the prince’s character seemed to be rude. I didn’t really like either of the Alorian Royalties. I felt like she was running out of creativity throughout the book. It is one of those books that I just wanted to get through. I think the overall idea of the book was great. I give this book 2 stars out of 5. You should either

A. Check it out from the library

B. Find a copy you could get for under $3

C. Just don’t read it at all.
