Max Segredo’s foster family decided to give him up, after Max has been accused of burning down their house. Max is taken to a foster home called Merry Sunshine. On the first day at Merry Sunshine, Max notices that this is not an ordinary foster home, espicially when you learn lockpicking, and you go on a field trip and break into a warehouse on the first day. Max won’t stop trying to get out of the foster home when somebody slipped him a note stating that his father is still alive. Even though Max gets caught sneaking out, the foster home director chooses Max for a special mission in the capitol. Max sneaks out to find his father during the special mission, and Max finds his father, but ditches him after he finds his father’s true identity.
I enjoyed this book because it had action, adventure, and mystery. I don’t really have anything negative about this book, but I think that if the author extended this book and didn’t add more mysterires this book would not be a series. If the author really wanted to make this a mystery series, the author should have made the ending a dead end. I like Max’s personality because he’s adventurous, sneaky, and daring. As soon as I read the back of the book, I was so excited to start reading the book. This book was amazing!
